The Harlequin Puppet Theatre

on the North Wales Coast

The Harlequin Puppet Theatre
Colwyn Bay

Tuesday 19th February until Saturday 2nd March.

The February half term Family Show is a real mixed bag. As well as a delightful fantasy ballet called The Little Ballet of the Handkerchief Princess there is a funny fairy tale play set long, long ago when the world was made up of small kingdoms and a plethora of kings. The king in this story is a bit of a silly and he goes about finding a wife in quite the wrong way. Adults can enjoy this as the play gently pokes fun at certain stereotypes with some very witty dialogue, while children just enjoy grown-ups being silly and the bossy king getting just what he deserves.

This show also includes the Magic Tricks of Mr Bimbamboozle always with the enthusiastic participation of the children, and the performace concludes with a novel Marionette Cabaret where adults and children are fascinated to see just how the strings are pulled to bring the puppets to life. The whole show is one of Skill and Artistry and is a show you cannot experience anywhere else. It is unique.

A delightful show for all the family to enjoy. Traditional Entertainment for Today's Children.

Britain's premier Marionette Theatre regularly presents wonderful puppets shows including pantomimes at Christmas. The Harlequin is Britain's first and only permament theatre designed and built for puppets. Established 1958. Situated in North Wales between Llandudno and Colwyn Bay at Rhos on Sea the Harlequin Puppet Theatre presents a pantomime Christmas Show each year. The panto starts on Boxing Day. This is ideal family entertainment and delightful for children. It is not too far to travel from Cheshire, Chester, the Wirral, Merseyside and christmas pantomime bookings can be made online. The 2018/19 show is Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp. Also in the show is Mr Bimbamboozle with his magic tricks with a great deal of audience participation and help from the children.
